In April 2026 we celebrate 100 years since the construction of St. Andrew’s church.
Remarkably, in 1926 the church and a new vicarage were funded totally by the parish, leaving it free of debt. A particular feature of the church is its leaded glazing and stained-glass images.
As part of the centenary, and to help preserve the legacy of St. Andrew’s, we’ll be looking to rejuvenate the church. The project will include painting all of the internal walls and floors, as well as cleaning and restoring the incredible stained-glass windows.
St. Andrew’s church is a Grade II listed building, meaning certain works must be carried out using qualified professionals with the requisite skillset.
We are looking to raise £30,000 to cover the cost of these works, and whilst a small portion of this can be covered by grants, we’ll be largely dependent on the generosity of local people and businesses.
